Reteach Resources for Intervention

I have taught the lessons in my textbook, but students still don't understand.  What do I use to reteach so they understand?  Here are some resource links to help you teach the standard(s) in possibly a different way or for differentiation.  These resources are organized by grade level and have several resources within each link.

Below is a collection of resources for teacher use when reteaching and enriching during intervention.

This is just one model an Arizona school district uses to address intervention (at all levels!).

How do we decide how to group our students during intervention?

We've taught the best way we know how, so I need to find another way to reach the students who haven't mastered the content and to advance the students who are ready to go deeper with the content.

Better Lessons

Engage New York - New York has created modules that address the Common Core Standards. These can be broken down (directly teaching what the students need) and used as a teacher led center.

Illuminations - this site has a lot of resources and even some that are already set up as centers according to content!

Illustrative Mathematics - this site has a wealth of information for the content standards, but 3-5 grade teachers - make sure you look at the "fractions progressions"!

Inside Mathematics

Howard County - Broken down by curriculum standards - includes ideas for assessment, supporting mathematics, and lessons (which can be used as your reteaching resource)  * as of 2016 - This site is no longer being updated.

Learn NC lesson plans span the wide range of curriculum areas for every grade from K to 12.

KSDE - Lessons and videos

New Zealand Maths - Unit instructions - great for reteaching

North Carolina -

NRICH -promotes the learning of mathematics through problem solving

We must make sure our students have a firm foundation in number sense!  This alone can make all the difference in a child's success in math.  The Number Talk book by Sherry Parrish is definitely worth looking into.  5-20 minutes a days helps to build students' confidence in working with and manipulating number patterns.
