Mathematical Practices

Mathematical Practice standards are important for every grade level. They are the processes and proficiencies that teachers need instill in their students so they develop a true understanding of the mathematical world. Explore this site to learn more about the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practice (SMP) and how they can be connected to the content standards. The practices are explained in depth on the corestandards website where the practices website contain hands-on learning opportunities for teachers. This site also contains tasks for teachers to implement in their classrooms to focus on specific practice standards. (Usually more than one standard is present in any lesson though!) Check here for questions to help your students start thinking and talking about math.
